Christmas Music, bells ringing, children singing...

I first off want to wish everyone out there a very merry CHRISTmas and hopefully a happy and blessed new year.

Now onto my main subject matter :)
Christmas is quite a time of year, people hustle and bustle, kids mirth and bubble over from sheer hapiness and are so excited to find out what is under those fringed tree branches in the living room. I know people who love the feeling of christmas, i know some who aren't big fans because of the commercialization and how people forget the real REASON for the season. I myself love to shop, love hustle and bustle and i LOVE christmas music... in december hehe, when it starts in september...that is OUT OF HAND! :) but i digress, anyways, i also make a point to remember that even though all of those things are fun and good, they are worth little in the grand scheme of things, it's Jesus that is the reason for it all.

That all said i have a thought, Why is it that we only sing certian songs in december because they are "christmas songs" Silent night, O come all ye faithful, Oh Holy Night, Mary did you know?... the list goes on til forever. Why do we only sing song's about our savior being born, in december?! yes its the holidays but rudolph the red nosed reindeer IS a christmas song, Here come's santa clause IS a christmas song, All i want for christmas is you IS a christmas song...and yes, I want a hippopotomos for christmas IS a christmas song.

I understand there is a special aire about singing certian songs but i think we sort of limit these songs to december which isn't quite right in my mind. I'm just thinking, don't stuff songs in a box because they are "christmas" We should celebrate Jesus' birth all year round, we should remember him in june, or august or march or any other assorted month of the year you so choose.

It's a miracle, i'm not ranting today, i'm just chilln and provoking thought (hopefully) so go sing songs, no matter what time of year it is!

Much love, merry christmas

Are you saying it or meaning it...

Okay perhaps i'm ranting because i'm all hyped, perhaps i think to much OR perhaps I am onto something? Who knows you can decide for yourself.

I just wonder if when we are praying, if when we are praising or if when we are witnessing to non-christians sometimes we are just saying the words, singing the words, reciting the script that we've said so many times but without any meaning in our hearts at all.

Okay say that you have been in a relationship with someone (so you thought) and the "I Love You's" have been said and when YOU said "I love you" you meant it with all your heart and soul but it turns out the person you fell head over heels in love for, would do anything for; just said i love you but didn't mean it at all! How badly does that hurt! Well we know how bad that feels for us, to be so turned away and rejected so why do we sometimes do the same thing to God?! LOVE GOD WITH MEANING!

When you enter into God's prescence and sing songs of adoration, commitment, LOVE, praise...Shouldn't we mean it? Think about the words that are coming out of your mouth instead of just singing along, feel the words, take them and honestly mean it because it is far more rewarding to have some good God time, to really praise him, than it is to just stand there in your row/pew and sing the words with nothing behind it. MEAN IT WHEN YOU PRAISE!

When you take time to pray (and i don't mean that once in a blue moon "Hey God i need something" prayer)

MEAN IT!!! i don't know about you but when i call my close friends i want to have a good conversation with them most of the time, yes there are phone calls that are a quick question and a goodbye but more often than not i call them or they call me and so we get on the phone i'm asking how their day is going, whats up with them you know the usual stuff. We'll joke and rant and i know we can talk about anything at all and it's okay. That is how a prayer should feel, like you are talking to your best and closest friend not like you have just met this person and you're tentatively talking to them. Pray daily, pray meaningfully and have that quality time with God because it will pay off in your walk and life.. MEAN IT WHEN YOU PRAY.

Next scenario!
Someone you know doesn't know which team to go for in the Big 12, you are entirely devoted to one team that you know for absolutely sure is going all the way, you know all the players names and stats, you know the coach you know the record, you know the history even back as far as when the team was started so aren't you going to (very excitedly i assume) tell your friend about that team and why they should definantly jump on the wagon and follow them as devotedly as you have because you know for sure that the team has it all. And your friend will be rewarded at the end of the season for rooting for the team, because they win it all?

We can do it with basketball, we can do it with football... So why can't we do it with God?!!!!!
I introject here that all the sports teams in the world are temporary and human so they will fail, they will bauble and someday they will die because (if God waits to take us home) we all will die.
Why is it so difficult for us to stand and tell a friend or another person that God loves us, God never fails us and God saves us for eternity and he offers the deepest truest love anywhere. How God accepts us no matter how faulty we are or how many times we mess up! Why is it so hard? Or when we tell someone about God we just invite them to church because it is a fun place to hang out but we don't really mention that God is the real reason we go to church because they might think that we are wierd. GET OVER IT are we ashamed of our God? Well i know i'm not.
MEAN IT WHEN YOU WITNESS

Okay i'm done ranting or whatever you want to call what just happened there :) but this subject has been and continues to be on my heart; so you can probably expect more on it hehe

Get off your butts christians!

"The stone you builders rejected which has become the capstone..."

...

Acts 3:12 -
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we MUST be saved...

Okay, so I've been reading Acts with my youthgroup, we've been studying the Holy spirit and every attachment thereof and it's AMAZING but, on my own heart lately (since convention) has been that christians are too conservative about their worship, save a few radical people who don't care what people think of their worship, only that God is blessed by their praise.
In Acts 4:31 it says this-
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
An Exerpt from my fireBible says this-
Christs disciples (i.e, his loyal disciplined followers) needed renewed courage to testify and speak for Christ. /"
THINK ABOUT IT! these men, the disciples, faced persecution for the cause of Christ. You read in the bible about men being stoned for Christ! Would you take a beating for your faith? are you willing to DIE for your Lord? Most of us have to think about that question and i admit it is a harsh question but here is my point...

CHRIST died a horrid, torcherous death in which he suffered immeasureably for YOU and ME! but we stand in worship services worried about what the people around us are going to think or say about our worship or what we are doing?

God doesn't ask for much, He asks for EVERYTHING.
Im not saying that i'm perfect, because i am so very far from it (thats why i NEED God) I stood for a long time in services, not raising my hands or letting go and letting myself truely worship because i was worried about what people would think of me but lately I have been studying and praying and LIVING outloud in my worship; coming to realize that if i ask God for things it is not free to me! I must give something of myself to him that COSTS me. So someone a few rows back snickers when my hands go up and i worship my savior, whatever. Them not letting go and worshipping is their own loss. Some people hold back because if they enter in with God, he might see their flaws or find the deep dark parts that we try to hide from everyone but let me tell you, There is nothing we humans can hide about ourselves from God! He knows all parts of us and everything about us no matter how well hidden we think it is so why hang onto things that God knows about anyways!? :) Let him move in your spirit, bite the bullet and just PRAISE him, you'll be better for it trust me! God loves the praises of his people, he inhabits them!

Always His,

Wow

Well few people know that i am a dabbling graphic artist, but i am. I have always loved creating art whether painting drawing doodling whatever and about four years ago i discovered Photoshop and i have been hooked ever since.

My main art has been photo manipulations for simulation games that friends play, making myself desktops...just playing. Well even though i haven't had any formal training whatsoever having been at this for four years i have aparantly gotten pretty good at all sorts of photo manipulations and photoshop generated art pieces. All this God given talent ,though hasnt' had anywhere to go, until now.

Long story short, over the summer i'd been introduced to a really cool musician friend and come to find out we both love photoshop and make all sorts of stuff in it so we started trading pictures and whatnot...Again, Long story short but he's in a band. That band needed a graphic because they were possibly playing the late night show AT CONVENTION. He asked me to do it, after near mental breakdown (lol) i got the darn thing finished and they loved it, and want to use it at CONVENTION!!!!!! and they are playing the show ;)

So i'm copywriting my name and logo, going semi pro hehe, i am SO excited and thankful i have this opportunity...and i don't want this to be the last time i do art for something like this, i could and would love to make a career out of this type of thing. I've been asking God where i'm supposed to go after school, questioning if the military was the place for me, and i'm wondering if this isnt' the other opption i've been praying for...either way, my fingers are crossed i'm super excited and thanking God for all of it!!!!!

Worship

DEFINITION OF WORSHIP OF THE TRUE GOD. The english word "worship" is derived from an Old English word "worthship". The word describes actions and additudes that esteem and honor the worthiness of God and express awe and adoration to him. True worship is God-centered, not human-centered. It focuses on God's character traits. Christian worship involves jesus' followers appropriately responding to God's character and prescence by expressing gratitude for who he is and what he had done for us. Sincere worship requires a faith commitment and an admission that God is the all-powerful Creator of heaven and earth. It means acknowledging that he is the Lord-the Leader and ultimate authority--in our lives. We were created to honor and worship God (psalm100:2, Isaiah 43:6,7;Romans 12:1, Col 1:16,17; revelation 4:11)
-
Nehemiah8:5-6"Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him because he was standing above them;and as he opened it, the people all stood up: And Ezra praised the LORD, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded 'Amen! Amen!'Then they bowed down and worshipedthe LORD with their faces to the ground...
-
Wow! the above is from my fire Bible but it really resonated with me because i am searching for deeper and closer worship all the time because i know God has even more of himself to show me, if i'll look deep enough and take the first step...Did you know that Amen means "i agree" and Hallelujah means "Highest praise, or praises" isn't that cool!!!!!!
:)
Well i'm done for the current moment just because my attention span has done run out but i'll probably be back, and with more stuff! lol
