Are you saying it or meaning it...

Okay perhaps i'm ranting because i'm all hyped, perhaps i think to much OR perhaps I am onto something? Who knows you can decide for yourself.

I just wonder if when we are praying, if when we are praising or if when we are witnessing to non-christians sometimes we are just saying the words, singing the words, reciting the script that we've said so many times but without any meaning in our hearts at all.

Okay say that you have been in a relationship with someone (so you thought) and the "I Love You's" have been said and when YOU said "I love you" you meant it with all your heart and soul but it turns out the person you fell head over heels in love for, would do anything for; just said i love you but didn't mean it at all! How badly does that hurt! Well we know how bad that feels for us, to be so turned away and rejected so why do we sometimes do the same thing to God?! LOVE GOD WITH MEANING!

When you enter into God's prescence and sing songs of adoration, commitment, LOVE, praise...Shouldn't we mean it? Think about the words that are coming out of your mouth instead of just singing along, feel the words, take them and honestly mean it because it is far more rewarding to have some good God time, to really praise him, than it is to just stand there in your row/pew and sing the words with nothing behind it. MEAN IT WHEN YOU PRAISE!

When you take time to pray (and i don't mean that once in a blue moon "Hey God i need something" prayer)

MEAN IT!!! i don't know about you but when i call my close friends i want to have a good conversation with them most of the time, yes there are phone calls that are a quick question and a goodbye but more often than not i call them or they call me and so we get on the phone i'm asking how their day is going, whats up with them you know the usual stuff. We'll joke and rant and i know we can talk about anything at all and it's okay. That is how a prayer should feel, like you are talking to your best and closest friend not like you have just met this person and you're tentatively talking to them. Pray daily, pray meaningfully and have that quality time with God because it will pay off in your walk and life.. MEAN IT WHEN YOU PRAY.

Next scenario!
Someone you know doesn't know which team to go for in the Big 12, you are entirely devoted to one team that you know for absolutely sure is going all the way, you know all the players names and stats, you know the coach you know the record, you know the history even back as far as when the team was started so aren't you going to (very excitedly i assume) tell your friend about that team and why they should definantly jump on the wagon and follow them as devotedly as you have because you know for sure that the team has it all. And your friend will be rewarded at the end of the season for rooting for the team, because they win it all?

We can do it with basketball, we can do it with football... So why can't we do it with God?!!!!!
I introject here that all the sports teams in the world are temporary and human so they will fail, they will bauble and someday they will die because (if God waits to take us home) we all will die.
Why is it so difficult for us to stand and tell a friend or another person that God loves us, God never fails us and God saves us for eternity and he offers the deepest truest love anywhere. How God accepts us no matter how faulty we are or how many times we mess up! Why is it so hard? Or when we tell someone about God we just invite them to church because it is a fun place to hang out but we don't really mention that God is the real reason we go to church because they might think that we are wierd. GET OVER IT are we ashamed of our God? Well i know i'm not.
MEAN IT WHEN YOU WITNESS

Okay i'm done ranting or whatever you want to call what just happened there :) but this subject has been and continues to be on my heart; so you can probably expect more on it hehe
